Note that this assembly does not require any modifications to your Foundry lid. The base price listed does NOT include a welded fitting. Note the price difference for the selected fitting type. Whatever QD style you use, just match it up. The most common is camlock which is what we show in the picture, then BLQD but we also have people ask for TC flanges as well. The drop down menu near the "add to cart" button allows you to select which kind of QD male you want on the input. If you often brew smaller ABV beers and your mash sits significantly lower, you can drop the dispersion tip lower by purchasing one foot of 3/8" ID silicone tubing to extend it downward for those batches.
The unit does have some height adjustability built in since you can feed more or less of the stainless tubing into the hole in the Anvil lid. The intended purpose of the dispursion tip is to spread out the force of the returning wort so it does not bore down through the top of the grain bed. We also include a short piece of silicone tubing to hang a dispersion tip on the output. My next project is fermentation temp control.This assembly is made of a mandrel bent length of 1/2" OD, 304 Stainless Steel tubing with a Male Camlock TIG welded to the input side. I look forward to brew day more than before because I can brew better beer more easily than before using the Anvil. The 6.5 gallon version is ideal for 2.5-3 gallon batches, which I now brew instead of larger amounts. Even with the 110 volt setup the unit heats reasonably fast. Cleanup is easier because there is only one kettle to clean instead of a mash tun and a boiling pot. The included wort chiller works better than my old copper standby. The mash pipe makes sparging possible and also makes it easier to dispose of the spent grain. The pump system simply and efficiently recirculates the wort. This easy to use system provides the ability to set the mash temp and step mash pretty easily. I wanted to up my game but didn't want to spend thousands of dollars doing it. Mash temps fluctuated and I never thought about wort recirculation. Like most, I used gas burners and separate vessels for each step. I have brewed beer for over 25 years, moving from extract to all grain. No Need to Disassemble Entire Unit! Use for Other Pumping Needs too.
